Pumpkin Carving outcome...

Despite Mama having a bum ankle (rolled it on a stupid Black Walnut at the park with Hux) we made the best of our weekend together.

Went out to breakfast, carved a pumpkin and just all around enjoyed our time as a little unit.

I'll be posting some fun Giveaways soon as the Holiday season approaches, and some new Toddler Food ideas that have been a big hit in our house.

As promised, here is the results of the carving session...

...maybe we'll have better luck next year.

pre-Halloween shenanigens.

Fall is totally kicking butt.
It's gorgeous here in Pennsylvania & today was no exception.

I got a wild hair and decided to dress Hux in his "Max" costume c/o The Radical Thread Co. You know, to make sure it fits, etc etc.

Mainly, I just think he's ridiculously cute with an animal nose & whiskers painted on him.

Tonight we are carving Huxley's first pumpkin! Hopefully he doesn't get a case of the "Ucky Hands" as we call it...(he gets it from his Mama).

There will be video & photos galore of that experience--you can count on it!

Until then,
here is the cuteness:

mornings with Hux.

Another tooth coming in.
Seriously?
When will the madness end?

Very sleep deprived & cranky parents over here, but Hux always has a way of turning our frowns upside down...

Toddler Land + Politics.

Now, I may complain a bit about living where we do, but last week I discovered a little glimmer of light in this crazy area.

The Philadelphia Please Touch Museum.
Awesome.

It was a rainy day, and a friend from work & I had a little play date scheduled for our boys. Our plans to go to the park were k-boshed but luckily she has a membership to the Please Touch Museum which isn't too far from us.

Oh my goodness this place is toddler heaven! So many fun centers to play in, and no one telling them, "no, no nooo don't touch that!".

It's even fun for parents! I was completely in another world in the Wonderland section. So amazing, and detailed. I could've stayed there all day.

Hux is just taking off with vocabulary and skills these days.
Yesterday, he counted to FIVE.
WHAT?!

I think we have Sesame St. to thank, because definitely haven't been working on that with him.

and for that, Romney is not getting my vote.

[Note: Hux's grocery cart. A total Mom fail. Bread, cookies, pretzels and hotdogs.]

[Ain't nothing sweeter than three sleeping boys.]

The Fall of Samson.

I did a bad thing.
A very bad thing.

My heart is all achy over it, and I'm just going to have to live with what I've done.

Here is what happened via phone call with Matt:

Me: Can I cut Huxley's bangs?

Matt: Sure, they're in his eyes and he's gotten to the point where he is used to seeing through them.

Me: Well, if you give me permission...

Then I got my Japonesque Baby Giraffe Hair Scissors & little Hippo Brush out, stood Hux on his table & tried to just snip a little bit of his bangs from his eyes.

The scissors were awesome, and the brush kept Huxley entertained while I prepped myself for the big snip...

Let's just say I have never had any professional cosmetology training, and we were immediately on our way to the local Hair Cuttery with Daddy to fix Mommy's botch bang job.

Hux was really mellow through the whole ordeal (until the very end when we told him he couldn't have another sucker) and fell asleep as soon as we got home---Matt swears it's because we stole his power by cutting those gorgeous curly locks.

It will grow back, right?

Right?!

[behold, our little man child.]

This post was brought to you by the lovely folks at Japonesque Baby.
If it weren't for your lovely little tools I wouldn't have had the courage to attempt the impossible!
Thanks for making such an adorable line of Baby Care products--that work-- & being a part of Hux's BIG MILESTONE!!

life on the Farm.

It is a kid's Fall Wonderland where we live right now.
Pumpkins, corn stalks, tractors, scarecrows, apples.
Hux is in Autumn Heaven!

Are you getting into the season yet?
I'm pretty stoked to be in my snuggly sweaters, making soups & pumpkin flavored everything.

Today is "Mama Monday"--Hux is at school (which he has been for the most part LOVING).
I've been relishing in these moments to myself. Cleaning, cooking, checking stuff off the "Put Off Far Too Long To Do List" & just having some time to settle mind a bit.

It's good for everyone.

Hope you had a lovely little weekend & nice start to your week.

Go do something for yourself, and take a couple cleansing breaths to reboot your mind for Monday.

[couldn't you just gobble him up?]
