Huxley's First Dentist Appointment

Huxley had his first Dentist check up today, and although it maybe was premature (the dental hygienist said kids usually come in at three), Hux was a complete Prince. I am always so humbled by my sweet child's easy going nature, especially when he is 2 hours overdue for nap time!

No cavities, awesome teeth, although we had to start flossing since his little chompers are so close together, and Hux is getting his 2 year molars.

Finally, the light at the end of the Teething Tunnel!

I started flossing when I was like 10 years old and I didn't even know what it was for. I was in college when I went to the dentist and she told me that I need to floss because the gaps between my teeth are being filled with food and I was like: “Eeeew!”

Bringing our child to the dentist, as early as the age of three, helps maintain healthy teeth as they get older. My mom told me that she brought me to the dentist when I was 5 years old. She said when I was three I was afraid to go to the dentist, which is the main reason why I had late dental checkup. Hehe! I’m happy that I have healthy teeth despite that. +Malorie Meade

You did a great job in taking care of Hurley's teeth! Imagine, at his age – where kids usually binge for sweets – you were able to keep his teeth free from cavities. And yes, three is the right age to bring your kid to the dentist for the first time. I'm still glad that you went in early. If he had problems (which he fortunately doesn't) it can still be resolved easily. Keep it up!

There are many people who live with missing teeth and this condition are very common in the Northampton area. The importance of regular dentist visits cannot be stressed enough. If you miss more than three dentist visits within a year, you should make an appointment for a dental check-up with your regular dentist. You should have a dental x-ray done if there are visible signs of decay or if you have any gum disease.
